One of the most exciting WordPress upgrades in recent memory was recently released. WordPress 2.9 brings several exciting new features to your WordPress based site.
Here are 3 quick videos demonstrating some of the key new features:
- ”Trash” feature: If you accidentally delete a post or comment, you can bring it back from the Trash. This also eliminates those annoying “are you sure” messages WordPress used to have on every delete. Here’s a demo:

You can update 10 plugins at once, versus having to do multiple clicks for each one. This feature also uses the new compatibility data from the official WordPress plugins directory to give information about whether plugins are compatible with new releases of WordPress. Demo:

There are many other “under the hood” features of WordPress 2.9, which you can use to enhance your theme, and to provide new functions such as “Post Thumbnails”, something we will cover in a future post.
